Man I am mad. Today I came across yet another blog that is doing well by telling people how to make money online. As a matter of fact this is one of the top hit terms on the internet. Lets get something straight, in any other industry when someone says “I make money by teaching people how to make money” this is considered snake oil (Snake Oil=Scam). People wake up, why do you support these blogs that claim to make you money but are packed with nothing more than affiliate links telling you how great the product that they are making a commission off of are. Do you think that they used these products to get rich, no they didn’t, they used a bunch of idiot followers that read their crappy posts to get rich.
Wake up, these people are doing nothing more than using you to make money for themselves, THEY ARE NOT GONNA HELP YOU GET RICH. Read blogs that are meaningful. I post affiliate links from time to time to make a couple extra bucks here and there, but my affiliate links are always marked as affiliate links. I would never sell someone false dreams. Any product that I mention is a product that I genuinely like. There are a lot of blogs like mine which are also good and the people who write them are trying to help you not get rich off of you. Unfortunately the majority of people would rather read these morons who do nothing but post affiliate links to any new snake oil scheme out there. The truth is they do not even try these products, these are just products that they see that they can make a quick buck off of so they give them a good review and then send their loyal sheep out to buy them so that they can make a commission off of them. That’s the secret of them getting rich. Unfortunately they will ever tell you this.
Instead of mentioning the names of these people (a couple of them are quite famous) let me give you some things to look out for on a blog that is trying to do nothing more than sell you a dream:
1) The blog says I make money by teaching people how to make money – This should be self explanatory. I mean come on now, read what it says “I make money teaching people how to make money”. If you can’t see this as a scam then you should go hide under a rock in order not to be conned by my grandmother.
2) The blog is stuffed with nothing but affiliate links – Affiliate links are in tact for a reason “To Sell A Product”. If you see a few affiliate links on a site there is nothing wrong with that but when you see that every post is talking about a product that is an affiliate link chances are they have not even tried that product out, they are just trying to sell you something in order to make a quick buck.
3) I will show you “My System” Just give me your money, email address or something else I can make money off of – Anyone showing you top secret systems for some type of monetary trade is a retard and anyone signing up for these systems are bigger retards. They are just showing you something so that they can gain something from you. So if you really wanna know there system it’s to get you to download the video so that they can gain something from you (usually an email address or money). See, now I just saved you from wasting bandwidth and waiting 5 minutes for the download.
4) I will show you my Secrets – Wanna know the real secret, LOTS OF HARD WORK AND STUDY. Everyone has their own little twerks to the trade and it’s your job to invent your own. It’s what makes you unique. Study the trade of marketing and SEO and you will develop your skills. There are plenty of resources out their to help you learn to be an internet marketer or SEO, the only thing you learn when reading these scammers blogs are how to become sheep.
5) We are internet marketers – I am ashamed to even be classed in the same group with these puddles of dirt. They claim to be internet marketers but the only thing they know how to do is get rich at other peoples expense. Real internet marketers know how to market websites of any shape or size (some specialize in niche markets) but the only things these guys know how to do is promote their blogs. This would make them BLOGGERS or even PRO BLOGGERS not internet marketers, they are 2 totally separate fields.
I am not gonna end this blog post on a negative note so let me give you guys a list of other blogs that ARE worth reading. This is a list of blogs that I read from people who really are trying to give back to the community:
SEO By The Sea – Awesome blog by Bill Slawski teaching and discussing SEO.
Search Engine Journal – Hey what can I say, Danny Sullivan is a cool guy even though we don’t always see eye to eye.
Sphinn - You can find plenty of useful info on here about marketing and SEO.
SEO Moz – With like a gazzilion authors, they are an excellent source of great informaion
Wolf Howl – Michael Grey is an excellent author and an excellent SEO. He writes some very entertaining and useful articles and is a great benefit to the SEO community. Also he is not scared to take shots at Google when they screw up.
Wil Reynolds – Wil has an awesome blog full of useful information and also has some Youtube videos out there that are very informative. Here is a link to Wil’s Youtube Videos
Okay I think that should give you guys a nice little arsenal of reading material, unfortunately I can’t reach everyone reading these scam blogs because they get a lot more views than me. I hope I deter at least a couple of people from reading “infomercial blogs” as I call them.
One last thing, I am not doing this because I want more people to read my blog nor am I doing this because I am jealous. I am doing this because I am irritated that scammers can become so popular and get so far in my industry. I feel that their are rapists living in my community and they are being praised for being rapists. I encourage people to help themselves (hence me creating this blog). I want to help the community and when their are people destroying it I have to expose them for the scum that they are. I hope everyone can understand that and also make informed decisions before buying anything that these con artists sell.

I completely agree with you Joe – Those things are exactly like MLMs (Multi Level Marketing)..
The fact is that SOME of those will actually teach you and will actually work.. IF AND ONLY IF YOU PUT 40 HOURS A WEEK INTO THEM!
That is, if you devote your full time job to trying to make money on the internet or growing your MLM network — it could work and you could make money.. BUT ONLY IF YOU SPEND TIME ON IT!
That’s what people don’t realize and what the marketers with those blogs try to take advantage of.. IMO.
It’s not that they take advantage of anything it’s simply because they don’t give a crap about anything but themselves. Everything that they post about is something that they are gonna make money off of.
I have known you for a little while now Arsham and I know you are a very wise person, so you can probably already guess some of the bloggers that I am talking about they are very well known in our industry. I just can’t stomach the fact that these well known buttheads take advantage of people.

I actually have a couple quotes that I repeat to myself on a daily basis.. one of them being “How may I serve you?” – The idea is that if I genuinely do my best to help people achieve their goals using my expertise, then the monetary benefit will follow on its own.
Obviously we all need to make a living to survive – but those who do it with scams or BS unhelpful ebooks will get what they deserve via Karam

You probably know the guys that I am talking about Arsham. The ones that annoy me most are the famous ones. I used to have a lot of respect for one of these guys his initials are “SM” but now I just think he is a loser. He claims to be an internet marketer but to be quite honest all he does is sell affiliate products to his unsuspecting sheep.

It is unfortunate that there are bloggers out there that think they can pay someone to be a success and not have to work for it. I have also felt your frustration and posted about it in the past, I lost some readers because of it as well, but that’s okay too I guess. At least we speak our mind

It seems like you are bashing John Chow and if you are I totally agree. I have had it with him, all he does is promote shoemoney’s stuff. what a racket!
You hit the nail on the head Tycoon. But it’s not just him, it’s also shoe him and many others, they are all a band of jack@$$es who use gullible people to make money.
I have a test for everyone, go through Shoe, John or any other blog of people that they deal with, after you go through these blogs tell me if you can find one post that isn’t promoting some kind of crap product. You might find one or two here or there, but for the most part you will find some kind of product or e book that they praise. Look at the frequency that they promote these e books and products (at least 2 a day). Tell me this, do you really think they have the time to read through and test these products? The answer is “No”. They just push these products out there so that they can make money off of unsuspecting victims.
Also if they are not promoting a product on their blog they are showing you pictures or writing a blog post about something extravagant that they are doing such as eating at a fancy restaurant or having fun at some kind of extravagant party. Do you know why they do this? They do this so people can see the extravagant life they live and hope to live that same life. These are the tricks that they use to get people to read their blogs. They show you big checks so that you can drool over them checks and hope to reach that number one day. They include catch phrases like “this can be you one day if you keep reading my blog”. These are all just tricks, nothing more than smoke and mirrors.
Thank you Tycoon for agreeing with me and being smart enough to see through these con artists, I am glad there are at least a few people on my side with this one.

Couldn’t agree more on this post. I really liked reading it and it struck the right chord with me. I understand how you must feel and well most people look for shortcuts. The bloggers who wish to gain popularity using these shortcuts visit these MAKE MONEY BLOGS.
There’s nothing wrong in them, its just the natural greed. Though, I know how it feels when one genuinely works hard and such MMO blogs do great with little effort.

I couldn't agree more. I much rather offer my services to local small businesses who absolutely have no clue about building an online presence, than prey on unsuspecting fools. It is funny to watch the sheep chase after the wolf as if he's their master. Shoemoney is the worst of them all. He's not only a two bit car salesman wanna be,(no offense to car salesmen), but also a poor excuse for a human being.
The saddest thing is when I was first starting out, I used to be one of the sheepy types, I leaned on shoe's and john chow's every word, and the more I read, the more spam my reader would have. It seems like they keep adding more and more affiliate links, or new products of their own, till they completely stop blogging about substantial topics altogether. Heck, I used to like some of the articles on Shoemoney's site, now he's just an egotistical money hungry sell out.
Excellent stuff – Thanks for publishing that advice, I think that it more or less answers my concern.
