Okay so I lied I really hate spammers but to be quite honest I find it very comical when people leave spam messages on my blog like this one:

I mean come on who in their right mind is actually gonna let this through as a comment on their blog? And for the people who auto approve comments they will surely see an eye sore like this one and instantly delete it.
A message for all of the spammers who are doing this “Get A Real Job” you guys suck. You are the people who help to bring down our industry and I wish I could find out who half of you people our so I can tie you down and tattoo douchebag across your heads. If you are going to spam at least make the comments useful. Ihave a couple of spammers who have hit my blog with meaningful comments and guess what, I let it through. I said to myself, at least they had the decency to write a good comment.
I am seriously gonna start trying to find out the companies that do this and one by one I am gonna start posting on how they are bad scam companies. I get like 50 spam messages a day and I have to go through everyone of them because unfortunately an innocent persons comment get caught in the filter every once in a while. Do you know what a pain in the ass that is. But most of the time while going through these comments I laugh to myself thinking what brainless idiots write these comments like the one I posted.
Well enough of my ramblings, What are your thoughts on this?

You are unlucky one having PHP based website that is targeted by spamming applications. I can tell you that most of that spam is coming from 89.28.114.111 that is spammer somewhere in Moldavia. I tried to contact his ISP, but I guess none of them speak English or cannot be bothered by the fact.
In my case I’m lucky as my site is Java based and looks like that posting software used by that guy just fail over on it :p

I will block that IP though

I have to say, I’ve developed a blind spot for this kind of spam. I guess they are thinking it’s a way to build links or something?
I know it affects more than blogs, which is even dumber. I have a website with a simple form where people suggest their sites for awards, and I get the weird lists of spam URL’s there as we… Go figure.
Yeah I get a ton of that crap on my forms too. Even with Recaptcha it dont seem to help.
Recaptcha is not sufficient any more. That spamming/posting application includes number of algorithms to get through recaptcha. If you are a technical person you may consider to get connected with Project Honey Pot and use their filtering service. Unfortunately their website did not provide enough info from the brief look I had.

Spammers have automated scripts that send emails out using a "dictionary attack". This means their script just sends out tons of emails to various combinations of numbers and letters at different domains.
