Okay so advertising has jumped into high gear, there are advertising companies that will pay you to do just about anything. Now you can get paid to tweet. Yes, you heard me right, you can get paid to tweet.
A lot of people might already know this but to be honest with you guys, I market for a lot of ecommerce sites and I am not going to take time out of my everyday workings to get paid to tweet (maybe I will hire someone for it). Also I am not the biggest social media user out there. I just happened to be reading a blog today and the blogger was talking about getting paid to tweet. Something that I found very cool about this is that you don’t need to have a website serving a large number of visitors, the only thing you need is a lot of friends on Twitter and when I say a lot I mean a lot.
I signed up with one company to find out going rates (ad.ly) and it seems like they can get you advertisers who are willing to pay about $0 .92 cents a week per 100 friends to post sponsored tweets for them. The way I came up with this number was because I have 270 friends and their suggested price for me was $2.50 per week per advertiser.
Now I really must say, from a publishers perspective this is pretty cool. Why am I saying this? Okay lets take a look at this for a sec. If you followed 1000 people per day (twitters max) and you get a a 20% reciprocal rate. That is 200 followers a day. times that by 30 days and you will have 6,000 followers. at $0.92 cents per 100 followers, you would now be making $55.00 per advertiser per week that translates to $220.00 per month per advertiser for posting sponsored tweets.
Now $220.00 per month might not seem like a lot but after 30-45 days that is pretty good just for tweeting. I mean come on most of us do it for free anyway, we might as well get paid for it and the cool part is you don’t even have to write the tweet. They write it and post it for you. Here is there exact words on how the program works:
“Ad.ly automatically sends 1 tweet in your feed every day from advertisers that you approve. With Ad.ly, you approve every tweet/ad that is sent in your feed. You set the price per tweet that advertisers pay (don’t worry, our system will suggest a price for your account).”
I wish I had a little more time to test this whole program out. I would really like to see what it could possibly make in a month. As a matter of fact I might get one of the members from our team to start work on this tomorrow just to see what we can generate off of this within a month. Hey maybe it will turn over a little profit.
If anyone else is interested in trying this out here is the link ad.ly, go ahead and try it out and drop us a comment on how you made out.

I singed on with Adly and Sponsored Tweets (and) a couple of others for good measure. Adly seems to target the Celebs and Sponsored Tweets is more for those of us with 10,000+ Followers.
I bought a Twitter marketing tool that has had a dramatic impact on my follower count. I don't subscribe to adding a bunch of followers in any ole niche. I'd much rather have those who are in sync with my niche, thinking my Tweets will generate clicks and the Publishers at Sponsored Tweets will come back for more.
Once they see how I use my Social Media Marketing Plus Blog, I suspect this will have a favorable impact as well.
